Fare Reduction Applies to All Classes, Including AC and Economy

This strategic move applies to all classes of service, including AC and economy classes, aiming to boost passenger numbers and enhance overall travel experience.

According to Amir Ali Baloch, CEO of Pakistan Railways, the fare reduction ranges from Rs. 50 to Rs. 150 per ticket, depending on the class of service.

Move Follows Recent Fare Hike and Petroleum Price Reduction

Recent weather conditions, including rains and floods, have impacted train operations. However, improvements are expected as weather conditions stabilize, and the railway continues to invest in busy sections across the country, including Dadu and Larkana.

In addition to the fare reduction, Pakistan Railways has imposed a heavy fine on a railway contractor for storing ice in a train restroom, ensuring a safe and clean environment for passengers.

The CEO expressed optimism that the government’s approval of the ML-1 project will lead to significant enhancements in railway services, including improved infrastructure, increased efficiency, and better passenger facilities.
