Lahore, Pakistan – The Punjab Excise Department has launched a new scheme allowing citizens to obtain personalized number plates. The initiative has already garnered attention from prominent figures, including renowned religious scholar Mufti Abdul Qavi and comedian Iftikhar Thakar.

According to sources, Mufti Abdul Qavi has requested the number ‘Qawi 1’, while Iftikhar Thakar has demanded a vanity number. Additionally, a provincial minister and the CEO of a private airline have also expressed interest in obtaining special numbers.

Director Chaudhry Asif confirmed that Mufti Abdul Qavi will be presented with the ‘Qawi 1’ number plate as a souvenir. He further stated that citizens will soon be able to acquire their desired number plates through an auction process. The department is expected to finalize the fee and policy for vanity number plates shortly.

This new scheme offers citizens the opportunity to personalize their vehicle number plates, adding a touch of individuality to their vehicles. The Punjab Excise Department’s initiative is seen as a step towards providing citizens with more autonomy and flexibility in vehicle registration.
