The World Bank has approved a $1 billion loan for Pakistan’s Dasu Hydropower project. The project, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is expected to generate significant amounts of renewable energy, helping Pakistan address its chronic power shortages.
The loan is part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to secure international funding for energy development, particularly in hydropower. The Dasu project will play a key role in the country’s energy mix, reducing reliance on expensive imported fuels and boosting its renewable energy capacity.
