Social media, Internet Services down in Pakistan

On Sunday night, internet services experienced widespread disruptions across the country, leading to numerous complaints from netizens who faced difficulties accessing social media sites. Users from various regions reported outages affecting popular platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter).

According to Downdetector and Netblocks, the apps, especially the website versions, have been down since around 7 pm local time. Karachi, Lahore, Mir Pur Khas, and Rawalpindi were among the most affected cities in the country, and some users resorted to reporting issues on WhatsApp. As of now, the reason behind the outage remains unclear, with no statement issued by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on the matter.
