Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar officially inaugurated PTV’s Hazaragi transmission during a ceremony in Quetta on Tuesday, underscoring its role in promoting the rich cultural diversity of Balochistan. In his address, he pledged to take concrete measures to support the languages, artists, and artisans of the province, emphasizing the need for their promotion and welfare.

Kakar highlighted that while the world recognizes Balochistan for its natural resources like the discovered natural gas in Sui and the gold and silver in Sandak, the true treasure lies in its history, culture, and civilization. He pointed out the significance of the ancient Mehar Garh civilization, renowned for its advanced practices in agriculture, herd rearing, and dentistry at a time when much of the world was still uncivilized.

The Prime Minister emphasized the historic moment as another language of Balochistan gains national recognition through the introduction of PTV Hazaragi transmission. He declared the development of media channels, particularly television and radio, as a top priority for his government, ensuring that comprehensive support will be extended to achieve this objective.

Underlining the importance of effective means of expression, Kakar stressed that media can play a vital role in showcasing the positive aspects of linguistic, cultural, and social diversity and development. He reiterated the need for national pride and affirmed the interim government’s full awareness of this imperative, assuring ongoing support for Pakistan Television and other national channels to contribute to this national goal.
