According to reports, the connectivity issue has affected several banks, resulting in users being unable to access their accounts and withdraw cash. The problem has caused inconvenience to many, with some users taking to social media to express their frustration.
OneLink officials have confirmed the connectivity issue, stating that the problem is being worked on and will be resolved soon. “We are aware of the connectivity issue affecting some banks and are working to resolve it as soon as possible,” a OneLink spokesperson said.
This is not the first time that Pakistan’s payment network has faced technical issues. In August, a dispute between the government and LDI operators over license renewal and dues had threatened to disrupt telecom services in the country.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had warned the Ministry of IT about the potential risks of the dispute, but a resolution has yet to be reached.
The connectivity issue has raised concerns about the reliability of Pakistan’s payment network and the need for robust infrastructure to support the country’s growing digital economy.
