Design New Banknotes and win up to 1 million rupees! The State Bank of Pakistan will be issuing new notes, and they have initiated work on the introduction of a new series of banknotes. An art competition is being held to gather fresh and thematic design ideas for the new banknotes. Local artists, designers, and art enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Rupee Redesign competition.
The competition partners will be exploring topics such as social and cultural identity, population diversity, seasonal changes and environmental conservation, economic development, natural landscapes, architectural heritage, and national symbols. The designs should be submitted by March 11, 2024, to the following address: Treasury Department, State Bank of Pakistan, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi.

Participants can share designs for denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, and 5000 rupees. The note design should be presented on white paper in hard copy with accompanying text. Explanations of the design and its theme should not exceed 100 words in English or Urdu.
The colors of the notes should be unique and easily distinguishable. Renowned artists will evaluate the submitted designs and select the top three designs, with the first, second, and third-place winners receiving cash prizes of 1 million, 500,000, and 300,000 rupees, respectively.
Participants must ensure that their designs are free from any copyright claims. Members of the jury, employees of the State Bank, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the art competition. The designs submitted for the competition will become the sole property of the State Bank of Pakistan, providing the bank with the freedom to modify or edit the designs as needed.
