Karachi is battling a surge in dengue cases, with over 1,500 confirmed infections reported last month alone. Health authorities attribute the outbreak to delayed fumigation drives and poor sanitation across the city.

The Sindh Health Department has come under criticism for its slow response to the dengue crisis, which is being exacerbated by stagnant water and the city’s congested urban landscape. While emergency fumigation efforts are now underway, health experts believe the campaign started too late to prevent the current outbreak.

In addition to fumigation, authorities are setting up medical camps in affected areas for dengue testing and treatment. Residents are being urged to remove standing water from their surroundings and use mosquito repellents to prevent further spread.
