According to Barrister Saif, Information Adviser to the KP government, the scheme has been approved to extend financial support to the poor and downtrodden segments of society.
“The provincial government recognizes that the loss of a breadwinner can push entire families into financial crisis,” Barrister Saif stated. “This scheme will provide essential financial assistance to alleviate their suffering.”
Key Features of the Scheme:
– Rs. five lac financial support to families upon the death of a member over 60 years old
– Rs. one million financial assistance in case of demise of a family member below 60 years
– Proposed establishment of a provincial insurance company to further support residents
With nearly 49% of KP’s population living below the poverty line, this initiative is expected to bring significant relief. The government’s efforts to provide financial security complement its existing Sehat Sahulat Programme, which offers health insurance to families.
