The Punjab government has announced new school timings for the province, effective October 2024. This change aims to provide students with a comfortable learning environment.
Current School Timings in Punjab
Single-shift schools operate from 8 am to 1:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8 am to 12 pm on Fridays. Double-shift schools have morning sessions from 8 am to 12 pm, afternoon sessions from 1 pm to 5:30 pm, and evening shifts from 2 pm to 5:30 pm on Fridays.

Expected New School Timings from October 2024
Boys’ schools are expected to operate from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, while girls’ schools will run from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm. On Fridays, boys’ classes will be from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm, and girls’ classes will be from 8:15 am to 12 pm.
Double-shift schools will have morning sessions from 7:45 am to 12:15 pm and afternoon sessions from 12:30 pm to 5 pm.
