The decision comes as Pakistan looks to capitalize on its surplus sugar production, with the country’s domestic needs expected to be met until January next year. The export of sugar to Tajikistan is seen as a significant opportunity for Pakistan to strengthen its trade ties with the Central Asian nation.
In addition to the sugar export approval, the ECC also greenlit a technical supplementary grant of Rs. 456 million for the establishment of eight women’s centers in tribal areas. The centers aim to promote women’s empowerment and development in the region.
This development is part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to enhance its trade and economic cooperation with Tajikistan, which has been strengthened in recent years through various agreements and collaborations.
