The Punjab cabinet has approved a ground breaking initiative aimed at supporting 3,000 brides through a mass marriage program. Alongside this, the government has greenlit a scheme to lease land to local farmers in a bid to empower the rural population and enhance food security.

Under the mass marriage initiative, each bride will receive financial assistance, gifts, and household items to support their new life. The program is designed to ease the financial burden on families, especially in rural areas, where the cost of marriage can be overwhelming.
