The Met Office has issued warnings, signaling the imminent arrival of heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms across these areas. This weather event is attributed to the impact of a potent westerly wave sweeping across the nation, expected to linger for the next 36 hours.

Moreover, the PMD’s weekly forecast predicts rain coupled with thunderstorms in upper/southwest Sindh on April 18 and 19, indicating a continuation of turbulent weather patterns.
The PMD predicts significant chances of rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms, with isolated occurrences of hailstorms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Balochistan, and upper/southwest Sindh on April 18. Furthermore, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeast Balochistan, and northeast Punjab, with a likelihood of hailstorms during this period. Additionally, snowfall is anticipated over high mountains in northern areas, contributing to the weather dynamics across the nation.
Residents and authorities in the affected regions are advised by the PMD to take necessary precautions and remain vigilant, particularly in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and other weather-related dangers. Travelers are urged to exercise caution and keep abreast of weather advisories to ensure their safety during travels.
Meanwhile, the rainfall has raised concerns among farmers awaiting the purchase of their wheat harvest by either the government or market traders.
