DuskNews is an AI-assisted journalism platform. Every story is drafted, edited, and fact-checked by a multi-AI pipeline under human editorial supervision. This page explains exactly how that works — what we publish, how we verify it, and how readers can flag mistakes.

Our mission

We tell evolving stories — not isolated headlines. Our format is the Living Story: a single piece with a real timeline, the structural causes, the human impact, and a clear “why this matters” — built to age well over weeks, months, or years rather than vanish with the news cycle. India-first in voice, global in scope.

How a DuskNews story is produced

Every story passes through a 4-role editorial pipeline plus a programmatic publish gate before reaching readers:

Researcher.Searches credible web sources for the topic and assembles a research bundle of facts, each tied to a source URL. For health, science, mind & environment topics, peer-reviewed papers are required.
Writer.Drafts the story strictly from the research bundle. Cannot introduce facts that aren’t cited. Produces the headline, content blocks, timeline, and SEO copy.
Editor. Reviews voice, structure, reading level, and per-category quality bars. Returns one of three verdicts: pass, rewrite, or hard-fail. Has full editorial authority over voice and structure but no factual authority.
Fact-Checker. Independently verifies every numeric, named, dated, or quoted claim against the source bundle. Has unilateral veto via hard-fail flags for fabricated or contradicted claims.

After all four AI roles agree, the story passes a Publish Gate— a programmatic checklist that verifies citation count, source-domain diversity, schema completeness, headline length, image presence, banned-word scans, and per-category quality bars. Only then does it enter the queue.

Finally, a human reviewer reads the story before it goes live. The reviewer either approves it for publication, sends it back for rewrite with a specific reason, or rejects it permanently. No story is published without this human step.

Disclosure: AI involvement

DuskNews stories are AI-drafted and AI-reviewed. The byline names a human editorial supervisor or “DuskNews Editorial” — never a ghost-named individual. The author page for any byline indicates whether the byline represents a single human writer or our AI-assisted editorial team. We believe this transparency is non-negotiable.

Sourcing standards

Every numeric, named, dated, or quoted claim must trace to a source URL stored with the story.
Source citations are visible to readers at the bottom of every story.
We do not use anonymous sourcing. If a claim depends on an unnamed source, we don’t print it.
For health, science, mind & environment topics: at least two peer-reviewed sources with DOIs are required.
Geopolitics stories require sources spanning at least three distinct domains across different political alignments.
For personalities still alive: every claim about them must have a citation; every opinion must be attributed.

Independence

DuskNews is independently owned and operated. We do not accept payment to cover, suppress, or shape the framing of any story. When we publish sponsored content, it is clearly labelled “Sponsored” and is kept editorially separate from regular reporting.

Bias and fairness

Our editorial guidelines explicitly forbid partisan framing on geopolitical and political stories. Every politically-charged story is tested against a simple question: “Would the other side call this fair?” We acknowledge that complete neutrality is impossible, and that being India-first inevitably shapes which stories we choose. We try to be transparent about that perspective.

Corrections

We will get things wrong. When we do, we want to know.

Email corrections to corrections@dusknews.com with the story URL and the specific claim you believe is incorrect, with a source.
We aim to respond within 48 hours, even if just to acknowledge receipt.
Confirmed corrections are published on the Corrections page and a correction note is added to the bottom of the corrected story with the date and what was changed.
For minor edits (typos, formatting), we update silently. For factual corrections, the original claim is preserved with a strikethrough so readers can see what changed.

Removal requests

If you appear in a DuskNews story and believe a fact about you is wrong, defamatory, or violates your privacy, contact legal@dusknews.com. We respond to all good-faith removal requests; we do not respond to threats or SLAPP-style demands.
