Islamabad, June 2 – Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant religious festivals in Pakistan, is just around the corner, and the government likely to announce a five-day holiday to mark the occasion.
According to sources in the Ministry of Interior, the Eid al-Adha holidays will commence on June 15 and continue until June 19. However, the official holidays will be observed from June 17 to 19, with June 15 and 16 being weekend days off.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is expected to make an official announcement regarding the sighting of the moon and the exact date of Eid al-Adha in the coming days. However, according to the Meteorological Department, Eid is likely to fall on June 17.
The five-day break is expected to provide a much-needed respite for the people of Pakistan, who have been facing intense heat and humidity in recent weeks. The government has urged citizens to take necessary precautions during the holidays and enjoy the festivities with caution.
With the announcement of the holidays, travel agents and tour operators are expecting a surge in bookings, as people plan to take advantage of the extended break to visit family and friends or explore tourist destinations within the country.
