The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has taken decisive action by seizing a suspected Benami property -Mall of Islamabad, Plot No. 56-N, situated on Jinnah Avenue, sector F-7, Islamabad. This action follows an order from the Deputy Commissioner IR/Initiating Officer of FBR’s Anti-Benami Zone 1, backed by evidence gathered during an authorized inquiry under Section 21 of the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act, 2017.

Approval for the provisional attachment under Section 22(3) has been granted by the Commissioner IR, Benami Zone-1, Islamabad, as per office letter C.No. 338 dated 30.04.2024. Consequently, all transactions involving the property are prohibited and restrained until further notice, in accordance with Section 22(3) and Section 5 of the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act 2017. This includes any transfer or encumbrance of the property. Individuals are barred from deriving any benefits from such transactions.
The provisional attachment order takes immediate effect and remains valid for up to ninety days from the issuance of the Section 22(1) notice. Additionally, sources reveal ongoing construction of a commercial plaza, named Mall of Islamabad, on the plot. Vicky Trading Pvt Limited is identified as the benamidar company involved in this transaction.
