The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesperson has announced that a new spell of rainfall is anticipated to hit Punjab by April 23. According to the spokesperson, Upper Punjab is set to experience light rain on April 23, with thundershowers and hail expected from April 26 to 29.
Moreover, a rain alert has been issued for Punjab from April 18 to 21, advising farmers to harvest their wheat crop while considering the prevailing weather conditions.
DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia emphasized that the administration remains on round-the-clock alert as per the directives of the CM. He further highlighted that district administrations across the province have been briefed about the evolving weather conditions.

Furthermore, the PDMA is closely monitoring the situation in real time. The next ten days are considered critical for rescue agencies and district administrations. Efforts to minimize damage from natural storms and rains have been intensified, with a focus on improving drainage systems in low-lying areas to mitigate potential flooding, as per the DG PDMA’s instructions.
