LAHORE: The Punjab government has kicked off the Chief Minister’s Youth Initiative, aimed at providing 20,000 motorcycles for students enrolled in degree colleges and universities. This initiative marks a significant step towards empowering youth with better mobility solutions.

Under this program, 19,000 petrol motorcycles and 1,000 electric motorcycles will be distributed through interest-free financing schemes. To support this initiative, the Punjab government has allocated a substantial subsidy of one billion rupees.

Financing Limits of Motorcycles for Students

The financing limit for electric motorcycles under this scheme is Rs 250,000, while for petrol motorcycles, it is Rs 150,000. If a student selects a motorcycle priced above these limits, they must cover the additional cost by paying the difference to the Bank of Punjab (BOP) upon successful approval. Only the motorcycles listed on the official web portal are eligible for this scheme.
