PTA takes crucial step to ensure Pakistan’s cybersecurity, telecom operators’ cyber security audit begins on PTA’s instructions
To ensure Pakistan’s cybersecurity, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has initiated a cyber security audit of telecom operators. According to sources, under the cyber security framework, it will also be reviewed whether firewalls are installed or not. The final review of the audit conducted by international standard companies will be taken by PTA.

All technical aspects of telecom operators’ cybersecurity will be reviewed, the implementation status of telecom companies’ cybersecurity framework will also be reviewed, and the security clearance of telecom operators’ staff will also be checked. According to sources, it will also be reviewed whether telecom operators have leaked users’ data or not. After the completion of the cyber security audit, PTA will give its recommendations.
