On Wednesday, Pakistan achieved a successful flight test of Fatah-II, as reported by the military’s media affairs wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted that Fatah-II is equipped with cutting-edge avionics, a sophisticated navigation system, and follows a unique flight trajectory.
The weapon system is capable of engaging targets with high precision up to a range of 400 kilometres, the ISPR stated.
The flight test was witnessed by senior officers from tri-services, along with dedicated scientists and engineers, according to the ISPR. President Dr Arif Alvi, interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir extended congratulations to the participating troops and scientists for the successful conduct of the flight test.
In October, Pakistan had previously conducted a successful flight test of the Ababeel Weapon System, with the ISPR emphasizing its aim to strengthen deterrence and enhance strategic stability in the region through the operationalization of Full Spectrum Deterrence within the framework of Credible Minimum Deterrence.
In August 2021, Pakistan had also achieved success with the test of the “indigenously developed” Fatah-1 guided multi-launch rocket system (MLRS), which the ISPR noted as capable of delivering a conventional warhead.
