As the much-anticipated General Election loom on the horizon, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has meticulously finalized all preparations, ensuring the seamless delivery of ballot papers. For those stepping into the world of voting for the first time, navigating the procedure may seem daunting. Fear not; we’re here to guide you through the entire process.
Unveiling Your Constituency
To initiate the journey, simply send your National Identity Card (NIC) number to 8300. This prompt action will furnish you with essential details such as the national and provincial assembly constituency number, polling station, family number, and serial number.
Essential Documents for Your Voting Venture in General Election
The ECP emphasizes the significance of bringing your original CNIC for casting your vote. An important note: even individuals with expired CNICs can exercise their voting right. However, be aware that alternative documents, including a copy of CNIC, will not be deemed acceptable.
The Cellphone Conundrum
Steer clear of mobile phone troubles at the polling stations – ECP strictly prohibits their presence. Voters are strongly advised to leave their phones securely at home.
Time to Cast Your Voice
The voting window opens at 8:00 am and extends until 5:00 pm, providing ample time for citizens to make their mark.

Navigate the Queue and Verification Process
Patiently wait in line until your turn arrives. The Presiding Officer (PO) will undertake the verification process, confirming your name and electoral number.
Post-verification, you’ll be handed two crucial ballot papers – one for the provincial assembly and the other for the national assembly. Additionally, the PO will mark your name off the list.
Sign and Seal Your Support
Ensure the indispensable signs and stamps of the PO grace the back of both ballot papers. Your vote hinges on this – without the signatures and stamps, your contribution won’t find its way into the electoral process.
Distinctive Ballot Papers
For the provincial and national assemblies, separate ballot papers await voters – white for the provincial and green for the national assembly. A unique ink, applied by the PO, captures your thumb impression on the electoral rolls.
Navigate the Voting Booths
Within the polling station, two distinct boxes beckon for your ballots – the green-topped box for the national assembly and the white-topped box for the provincial assembly.
A Fair and Unbiased Vote
Ensure your voting sanctuary remains interference-free. No other individuals should be present, attempting to sway or influence your voting decision.
Dry Ink, a Crucial Finale
After stamping both ballot papers, fold them meticulously, ensuring the ink is dry before sealing the deal. Moreover, lengthwise folding prevents the ink from encroaching onto other candidates’ spaces on the ballot paper.
Seal Your Civic Duty
