Is Your Name Listed on the 2024 FBR SIM Block List? In response to non-compliance with tax obligations for the Tax Year 2023, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated measures to deactivate the mobile phone SIMs of 506,671 individuals not present on the active taxpayer registry.

The FBR has enacted an Income Tax General Order (ITGO) under the authority granted by section 114B of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, to facilitate this action.
Directives have been issued to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and all telecommunication service providers to promptly execute the ITGO, ensuring immediate enforcement across the board.
Additionally, telecom operators have been requested to furnish a compliance report by May 15, 2024, regarding the implementation of this order.
