A Kensington Palace spokesperson has stated that Kate Middleton will not be rushing back to her royal duties following her cancer diagnosis. This announcement comes two months after the Princess of Wales disclosed her diagnosis of an unspecified type of cancer. “The princess will not resume her royal responsibilities until she receives clearance from her medical team,” the spokesperson told the BBC. Nonetheless, Middleton has recently taken a small step back into her work, collaborating with Prince William on her first project update since her illness was made public. Together, they contributed to a Mental Health Awareness Week post that addressed the psychological challenges faced by young farmers. While Middleton does not appear in the video, she and Prince William co-produced it. In her video message revealing her illness, Middleton mentioned that she is in the early stages of undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
