Recently, under the guidance of Interim Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar, the federal cabinet gathered to discuss crucial matters related to the Pakistan Election 2024. In a unanimous decision, the cabinet approved the Military Deployment of both the Army and Civil Armed Forces to ensure a secure and orderly electoral process. Specifically, the Army is designated as the Red Response Force for sensitive constituencies.

This decision came after the Federal Ministry of Interior submitted a summary emphasizing the crucial role of military services in maintaining a secure electoral environment.

The approved summary details a substantial deployment, involving 277,000 officers and personnel from the Pakistan Army, as well as Rangers and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel assigned for election duties. These combined forces will function as a rapid response force in sensitive areas during the general elections scheduled for February 8.

To enhance preparedness for a fair and transparent electoral process, the Election Commission has frozen the funds of all local government departments.

In addition to election-related discussions, the federal cabinet thoroughly examined a summary regarding the restructuring of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). However, a conclusive decision on FBR restructuring was postponed during the cabinet meeting.

In response, the Prime Minister has proactively established a committee to further deliberate on the proposed reforms within the FBR, aiming to improve organizational efficiency.
