The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning about a heatwave expected to start on Tuesday, impacting multiple regions significantly.
As per the NDMA advisory, Punjab and Sindh are forecasted to experience severe heatwave conditions from Thursday until the 27th of this month. The advisory highlights that temperatures will likely reach dangerously high levels, posing substantial health risks.
Given the forecasted heatwave and its potential dangers, the NDMA advises the public to take necessary precautions. People are encouraged to avoid unnecessary sun exposure, stay hydrated, and wear lightweight, light-colored clothing to mitigate the heat’s effects. Staying indoors during peak sunlight hours is also recommended to prevent heat-related illnesses such as heatstroke and dehydration.

Farmers in the affected regions are specifically urged to manage their crops with care, adjusting irrigation schedules and providing additional shading to protect crops from the extreme temperatures.
Livestock owners should also take steps to protect their animals, ensuring access to ample water and shade, and adjusting feeding times to cooler parts of the day to reduce the heat’s impact on livestock.
The NDMA’s advisory aims to raise awareness and prepare both individuals and communities for the upcoming heatwave, encouraging proactive measures to minimize health risks and protect livelihoods.
