As Ramadan 2024 draws to a close, the excitement for Eid holidays 2024 begins to mount in Pakistan.

Online, a notification circulated proposing four holidays for government workers during Eid ul Fitr, yet the federal government cautioned against sharing the counterfeit notification Stating,

“In line with the cabinet division’s directive, the prime minister has approved April 9th, 2024 to April 12th, 2024 (Tuesday to Friday) as public holidays for Eid ul Fitr.”

The Interior Ministry’s spokesperson clarified that the viral notification is indeed fake and urged people not to propagate it.

The official announcement regarding Eidul Fitr holidays in Pakistan is yet to be made by the federal government, pending a cabinet meeting.

Anticipation brews among Pakistani employees for an extended Eid-ul-Fitr holiday period. With Ramadan expected to span 29 days, the initial holiday is projected to commence on Tuesday, April 9th.

Reports suggest that the anticipated holidays may extend from April 9th to April 12th, followed by the weekend, resulting in a six-day hiatus.

Furthermore, as April 6th, Saturday, falls before Eid, many government employees may opt for leave, potentially elongating their break to nine days with the addition of one or two extra days off.
