The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has launched the “Clean Punjab Project,” a two-pronged initiative aimed at promoting transparency in law enforcement and enhancing the province’s environmental cleanliness.

Enhancing Police Transparency through Video Recordings:

Following the directives of Inspector General Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar, all Punjab police raids will now be documented using video footage. This mandate aligns with Chief Minister Sharif’s emphasis on accountability and transparency in police operations. Body cameras are the preferred method for capturing video, but mobile phones can be used if unavailable. This initiative aims to discourage misconduct and ensure greater public trust in law enforcement.

Province-Wide Cleanliness Drive: The “Clean Punjab Project”

Chief Minister Sharif has launched the “Clean Punjab Project,” setting a one-month deadline for a comprehensive province-wide garbage removal initiative. This project seeks to significantly improve sanitation and hygiene across Punjab, promoting a healthier and cleaner environment for all residents. The Chief Minister will personally assess the adherence to clean-up efforts after the designated timeframe, highlighting the government’s commitment to the project’s success.

By implementing these projects, the Punjab government endeavors to establish a safer and cleaner environment for all citizens, fostering a sense of security and well-being within the province.
