The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has projected that Eid ul Adha is likely to be observed on Monday, June 17, 2024.

According to the Climate Data Processing Centre at the Met Office, the new crescent moon for Dhul-Hijjah is anticipated to appear on June 6 at 5:38 PM.

In Karachi, the moon will be 26 hours and 8 minutes old at sunset, as per PMD’s calculations. They also noted that the moon is expected to remain visible for 72 minutes after sunset.

The visibility of the moon requires it to be at least 19 hours old, according to PMD’s guidelines. The final confirmation for the date of Eid ul Adha will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in the near future.

Additionally, the establishment division has announced that public holidays for Eid ul Adha will span from June 17 to June 19. Official notifications regarding these holidays will be released by both federal and provincial authorities closer to the date.
