The eagerly anticipated opening ceremony and match on February 17th have captured the attention of spectators. Continuing the tradition, a new anthem for Season 9 was unveiled, featuring Ali Zafar and Aima Baig.

The inaugural clash of Season 9 is scheduled between the reigning champions, Lahore Qalandars, and two-time winners, Islamabad United. Lahore Qalandars secured victory in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, achieving the unique feat of consecutive wins after consistently finishing at the bottom. This turnaround coincided with the appointment of fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi as captain, who led the team to two consecutive triumphs.

Islamabad United, winners of the inaugural PSL event in 2016 (held entirely in the United Arab Emirates) and the 2018 season, aim to break a six-year dry spell without claiming the title.
